Last range session of 2010

My wife wasn't able to go to the range with me so I focused on trying some guns she may want to shoot at a later time. I shot a total of 100 rounds (50 .45ACP and 50 .40S&W) using six pistols (3 .45 and 3 .40).

I shot the .45ACP pistols first. I don't know if I have ever shot a .45 before (if so, it has been a LONG time). First up was a Kahr single-stack. The textured grip hurt the web of my thumb when I shot this gun. It is a shorter gun and very slim and I may not know the best way to grip it for controlling the recoil.

Next up was the Springfield Armory XDm in .45. As has been the case in the past I really liked the way the XDm shot.

And my final .45 was a Desert Eagle 1911. This gun felt very good but I'm just not used to the light single-action trigger.

On to the .40 S&W pistols. First up a Sig Sauer P220. This gun felt very good.
Sig P220 (.40) 3 yards

Sig P220 (.40) 7 yards
Next a Glock 23. I had wanted to shoot a Smith & Wesson M&P in .40 but the range didn't have one available. I was really surprised by how poorly I shot the Glock 23 at 7 yards. For the most part I've liked the other Glocks I've shot and shoot them fairly well. Now I am about 45 minutes into my range session and am definitely tiring--but...

The last pistol of the day was a Springfield XDm .40. I also didn't shoot this as well at 7 yards as I have in the past.

On our next range session I want to have my wife try the Springfield .45 XDm and maybe see if there is a Sig Sauer .45 to try since I liked the P220 in .40 so well.
